During my senior year of high school, I was enrolled in AP studio art: 2D design. For the AP exam, I decided my concentration would be centered around my yellow Labrador retriever, Digby. As he was nearing the end of his life while I was taking the class, I saw a unique opportunity to create something special and dedicate my work to his memory before he passed away. This particular piece is one of my favorites from the collection, as it represents Digby's playfulness through the incorporation of bright colors and bold lines and shapes surrounding his . I also wanted to illustrate his likeness using a caricature-like style, to highlight his endearing personality. I am proud of this work because I believe it most effectively translates his essence to the audience. By viewing this piece, I believe people can easily gain insight into who Digby was, conveying both his spirit and stature.
