Wallpaper of Gallifrey

For this project, we were tasked with designing a wallpaper pattern to using tools provided by Adobe Illustrator. We learned in class that a pattern is defined as "a combination of elements or shapes repeated in a recurring and regular arrangement" (Lorenzo Pereiro, Widewalls). During the initial design phase, numerous aspects were considered, including color scheme, shape, pattern & repetition, texture, and unity and variety.
We started by experimenting with tools on Illustrator, and were first asked to draft a repeatable 8 x 8 pattern module (artboard), using a color scheme of at least 3 colors. We were then instructed to create the pattern to fill a 24" x 24" space. We were encouraged to go beyond a standard grid formation to create a pattern using offset, repetition, mirroring, rotation.
