Honey-Nut
vs
Cinnamon
For this assignment, we were tasked with creating our very own 15-30 second silent stop motion animation video. In class, we learned stop motion is an animation technique through which physical objects, drawings, or people are altered and photographed one picture at a time to give an illusion of movement when displayed in sequence.
We had a wide range of liberties in approaching this project, and were encouraged to use any material to create your animation. However, one of the most important elements was to make sure we framed each image horizontally not vertically, to practice professional videography techniques. Also, if at all possible, we needed to avoid making humans our subject, or anything that could easily be shot as a video.
